Hello my dear friends you've been missed,

After 5 months of being here already I'm really starting getting impatient to see you and the sun again, and (that might sound weird now) but I also miss eating cabbage!
I mean, this country has plenty of beets and roots types but ran quite a bit short in terms of cabbage veriaty, I could bet it's due to the missing sun light, but I can also be completely wrong. lol
When I'm able to phrase the first sentence in dutch,I may ask someone at the grocery about the reason, however by now with my precious 3 words of vocabulary, besides eye contact and rap star gesticulation, this momma ain't go far ;)

Well, but let me go back in time a bit, to tell you some episodes how the experience is being so far as an Expat in the Netherlands.
For those who are not familiar with the term "Expat", it comes from latin and means basically, that you are an "ex" patriot which moved abroad from the country you were born and raised, in my case I prefer the designation modern nomad, just because of the fact that I was always somewhere between Germany and Portugal ;)

Still back in Portugal at the beginning of 2017, due to personal as well as professional reasons, I've started finding interestng the idea of moving abroad to gather more experiences somewhere in Europe, so I've submitted some aplications all over Europe, without knowing exactly where I would stay, it was really like rolling dices and check what options I had.
At the beginning of March, I've travelled alone to the Netherlands for a couple of days, where I had my final interview at the company I'm working for, after an extensive recruitment process and a few days after I've arrived home again I received the offer and then it all went as fast as light.

Even befor receiving a concrete answer, the both of us had already thought about some strategies on how it was going to be with the moving and what we needed to guarantee to not turn our lives too risky in the first months.
Main rule was at least, that one of us had a confirmed job offer and we would live with some savings till the other one would also get employed.
Up to that point, it was all fine, would the dutch registration process not be a brainstorm itself!

So, next Sunday I'll tell you more about it, for today I'm done because I can't keep my eyes open any longer ;)

I wish you all a wonderful rest of the week and feel yourself hugged! :)

Kisses,

Ni
